When it comes to small home repairs, it can be difficult to find someone willing to come out and fix them for you. They are small enough that you’re not sure if it’s justifiable having someone come out, while also being a bit outside of your comfort zone to fix yourself. A lot of companies only want to work on larger projects, but the majority of things that happen in a home are small! I pose two possible solutions for this dilemma. No 1. Wait until they accumulate. This is what most people do and it’s actually pretty smart. This method may make it more worthwhile for some contractors to come out and take care of the repairs for you. It can also save you money in the long run because it will take one visit to complete everything versus several trips. However, your saving money is not a guarantee and regardless of one trip or several, some contractors will charge you an arm and a leg. Small home repairs are not their cup of tea and they may want to recoup the money they would have made if it were a larger job. No 2. Seek out companies that specialize in small home repairs. They may be fewer and farther between, but once you find a reliable person or company to take care of these types of repairs, you will be all the more satisfied. This is the method I recommend. Initially, it may take some time to find someone good, but it will be well worth it. Ask friends, family, neighbors, coworkers, or simply do a Google search. There are actually more than you may think. Read reviews, check out their website, photos, and about pages. These all provide great information and insight into how a company will perform for you The companies who specialize in small home repairs do just that, they ‘specialize’. This means they may have more knowledge about the small stuff than do larger companies. This is who you want to work with because that also means they are more efficient, which will save you money.
