Parts of your home need updating once and a while and your shed is no different. Continue reading to learn how this shed went from drab to fab! The customer chose a product called SmartSide, which is an engineered wood. It is durable, lightweight, and weather resistant. In combination with the SmartSide, she chose to upgrade the existing wood trim with PVC trim. It really gave the shed a fresh, new look. Starting with the right side of the shed, I trimmed out the edges including the window and then attached the new siding over top of the existing. The back of the shed was the easiest part to cover because it didn’t have a door, window, or roof angle. I dug a small trench for the bottom piece of trim to sit in. This was to discourage critters from burrowing underneath and getting inside. The left side installation went just like the right side minus the window. The front door to the shed had to be taken off for the new trim to be installed and then the door hinges reinstalled on top. The customer intends on painting the door white to match. The end result was a complete transformation. Not only does the shed now match the customer’s home, but it looks brand new! Thanks for reading! I hope you enjoyed learning about this project.
